New roles available to support the running of the charity

Do you have the skills we need?

From modernising the studio to filling our schedule, it is great to see how Torbay Hospital Radio is changing.

But with this progression and expansion, we need more support and expertise. Therefore we have a selection of non-Trustee volunteer roles available. These will help us be more efficient, raise more money for the charity and provide an even better service for our listeners. Our core listeners are the patients and staff of Torbay Hospital.

The roles

We are looking for volunteers to cover the following roles:

New Members Officer – The person in this role will be responsible for the onboarding process of new volunteers. This includes liaising with NHS Volunteer Services to ensure key paperwork is sorted, providing support to the new members, and arranging training sessions with the presenters. This person needs to be organised and have good communication skills.

Accessibility, Equality and Inclusion Officer – This role is for someone who would like to help us become more accessible, fair and inclusive to the vulnerable and the minorities. Tasks could involve making sure we have everything in place in the studio and at outside broadcasts to meet the requirements, creating and enforcing policies, and working with the New Members Officer to find more volunteers to join us. This is a great role if you have experience or a passion in this area.

Outside Broadcast Team members – These are brand new roles. Outside broadcasts and events are an important way for Torbay Hospital Radio to raise our profile and a core source of our funding every year. The outside broadcasts are great fun, and we are looking for people to help the presenters, meet the public and help everyone enjoy the events.

Health and Safety Officer – Health and safety are integral to the running of the charity. We would like someone to join the team who has some experience in this area to make sure that we have everything in place to meet regulations and ensure the health and safety of all volunteers and guests. Both when in the studio or taking part in outside broadcasts and events.
