Torbay Hospital Radio are always looking for new members to join our great team of volunteers.

Torbay Hospital Radio has 2 volunteering roles – Radio Presenter and Radio Events Team. 

Radio Presenter: This is someone who has an interest in broadcasting a live program from our studios at Torbay Hospital for a minimum commitment of 1 hour per week, every week. (Most presenters produce a weekly 2-hour show)
We also ask that you attend a minimum of 10 hours’ worth of external fundraising events.
Membership fee is £25 per year and includes a free polo shirt – Pay now

Radio Events Team: This is someone who helps in other aspects of Torbay Hospital Radio, such as fundraising, assisting at outside fundraising events, music library management,  and collecting requests from our listeners. We ask for a minimum commitment of 1 hour per week.
Membership fee is £20 per year and includes a free polo shirt – Pay now

 

Our membership fees are to support the station, to show commitment towards the charity as well as include you in our insurance. The membership fee is renewed each March at our AGM.

We expect a level of commitment from our volunteers as you would in paid employment, and we have policies and procedures in place to protect the station and yourself which you must follow.

Volunteer Fundraiser / Event Team Member

The Volunteer Fundraiser / Event Team Member for Torbay Hospital Radio is responsible for a variety of tasks related to fundraising and event planning. These tasks include:

  • Developing and implementing fundraising strategies
  • Organising and running fundraising events
  • Promoting the events
  • Collecting donations
  • Evaluating the success of fundraising events and making recommendations for future events

The Volunteer Fundraiser / Event Team Member for Torbay Hospital Radio must have strong communication and interpersonal skills, as they will be working with a variety of people, including hospital staff, volunteers, and donors. They must also be able to work independently and as part of a team.

The Volunteer Fundraiser / Event Team Member for Torbay Hospital Radio must be passionate about helping others and making a difference in the lives of patients and their families. They must also be committed to the mission of Hospital Radio and the work that it does.

Volunteer Radio Presenter

The Volunteer Radio Presenter for Torbay Hospital Radio is responsible for presenting live radio shows to patients and staff of Torbay Hospital. The role involves:

  • Playing a variety of music
  • Interacting with listeners
  • Providing information and support
  • Representing the station at events

The Volunteer Radio Presenter must have strong communication and interpersonal skills, as they will be working with a variety of people, including patients, staff, and volunteers. They must also be able to work independently and as part of a team.

The Volunteer Radio Presenter must be passionate about radio and music, and they must be committed to providing a high-quality service to patients and staff.
